Grahamstown

Grahamstown and surrounds

Grahamstown is the home of the National Arts Festival, Scifest, Rhodes University, numerous schools, beautiful churches and many historical and architectural treasures.

The town is an educational centre devoted to learning and is an ideal environment for the stimulation and development of young minds. Situated close to the sea, near to major conservation initiatives and in the centre of a diverse farming area, St Andrew’s Prep can offer pupils access to these resources during the course of their education. Excursions to outlying areas of interest are frequent, and marine exploration, historical tours and similar outdoor activities form part of the extended curriculum.

Port Elizabeth is the nearest large city with an airport, and it takes approximately 80 minutes to reach Grahamstown by car. The St Andrew’s travel co-ordinator is able to arrange for pupils to be collected from the airport and for most other travel requirements.
